Today’s storm system moved through the area with fierce rain, snow, wind, sleet, and numerous problems for regional airports and roadways. The storm is still causing problems across New England bringing heavy snow and wind. If you have to travel tonight please do so with care. If there is no need to go out, stay home tonight!
This storm system is rapidly intensifying as it moves northward into the Gulf of Maine. As it does so it should help create a tight pressure gradient across the region, which should result into to heavy winds. Accompanied with these winds will be dangerous wind chills. Make sure you bundle up tonight into tomorrow as wind chill values will make it feel like it is near to below zero. Highs tomorrow will struggle to get out of the teens in New England and 20s elsewhere across New England.
Watching another storm system move into the region during the middle of the week around Christmas Eve. At this time the storm appears to be “warm” but I am continuing to monitor it. Keep it here for more updates with the current storm and the upcoming storm on Christmas Eve.
