After yesterday’s travel headaches with numerous air and road delays another round of precipitation is in the offing for later tonight into Sunday.
This is what I am thinking for snowfall accumulations. The map will be adjusted and updated as needed throughout the day and overnight.

Thinking a large swath of 6-12″ of snowfall accumulation across much of New England. The snow could be heavy at times. Further south I’m thinking a general 4-8″ of snowfall accumulation. This may mix with sleet and/or freezing rain for a period, especially the southern areas of this zone. 2-4″ of snowfall across southern New York state and into New Jersey, Connecticut and up into Massachusetts. Snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain for a couple of hours. As a result this should keep the precipitation totals down. 1-3″ of snow, sleet, freezing rain for NYC metro area and southern portions of northern New Jersey and central New Jersey. This zone will be a slushy mess and will transition to all rain sometime during the overnight. Some minor icing may be possible in this zone, especially if we can trap some colder air in the lower levels. ALL rain from a little bit north of Trenton New Jersey southward.
The snow should start from 8 to 10 PM across southern New England (Philadelphia, Trenton, western NJ), 9 to 11 PM (eastern NJ, NYC metro) and after midnight for New England.
Stay tuned for more continual coverage on this storm.
