Upper-level low pressure or Invest 94L is currently moving through South Carolina and will be moving into the region. The precipitation across the region right now is a result of this system. The precipitation will be coming on in waves over the next 48 hours. Upper-level low or 94L will team up with Tropical Storm Kyle over the weekend to bring a washout of a weekend. Kyle may actually strengthen into a hurricane sometime tonight or tomorrow.
Heavy rainfall and wind can be expected from these storm systems. 2-4″+ rainfall totals are possible and winds 10-20 MPH with higher gusts (25-35 MPH+). Areas near the coast will see the highest winds where areas further inland will likely see less winds. Areas across New England may have to deal with some shadowing 1 which could prevent rainfall totals. Nevertheless, this will be a big rainmaker across the east. Please stay tuned for latest forecasts and outlooks for the possibility of flooding. Some areas, especially coastal areas, are under flood advisories. Be prepared in the event you see rising flood waters and remember don’t drive through flooded roadways, turn around DON’T DROWN!!
