Today was a nice break from the humidity and the afternoon thunderstorms. However, this will be changing over the next few days as a more unsettled weather pattern develops. The models seem to be in good agreement that an upper-level low will be moving into the Great Lakes and then heading eastward. This upper-level low will bring unsettled weather with it through much of the weekend. However, warm and hot weather can be expected for Thursday and Friday. The upper-level low does two things to the jet stream. It causes the jet stream to dip as the the low drifts further southward. Like a sea-saw the jet stream begins to rise further east as a result of the dipping further toward the west. As a result, we should see some ridging in the east which should translate into warm, moist, and humid temperatures developing. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected, which some may be locally severe. The weekend will not be a complete washout however it is near impossible to predict when the weather may change from dry to wet. It is crucial to pay close attention to radar and Storm Chaos Weather for the latest storm and rain information for your area.
